Thank you to all for the kind comments, I have just got one or two more photos so I will put those on the thread later. It is funny when you take a load of photos and they just don't seem enough to give the place sufficient justice.:)

I think catherine nicol has some more photos if she is willing to post them?

Superb photographs , I seem to recall there was a ship ran aground on Stroma a few years ago, I take it that it has been either chopped up or sunk, as I didnt see it in the photos?

there is still part of it on the rocks. the rest was washed away one stormy night.

Thank you Rheghead (and Katarina). I never realised that there were quite so many buildings on Stroma. It's really quite sad isn't it?

The pics were excellent. Its been about 20 years since I visited Stroma. My husbands family were the last to leave the island back in the 1960's so it holds a special interest for us.

Thank you very much.

These pictures were taken with my Fuji 602 camera.

I had the best day ever wandering around the island. 4 hours we were there and I only covered half of the island. Can't wait until we go over for another trip. Such beautiful scenery, buildings, birds and flowers. I loved my day immensely.

I didn't even see this nesting fulmar tucked away in the corner of this old building. It wasn't until she 'threw up' close to me that I looked to find out what had happened. Lucky me, they would have tied me over the side of the boat and dragged me through the water on the way home if her aim had been better !!!

Happened upon this bone during my wanders round this gorgeous island.

Anyone have any clues what it was in a previous life???

Can anyone tell me what the buildings below the Lighthouse were used for?

Excuse the quality of these two photos, I took these with my camcorder and didn't realise what poor quality when downloaded to pc. Wish I had used my camera now !
