Need For Registered Childminders

Noticed recently quite a few posts on here by people looking for childminders in various areas.

I was thinking about becoming a registered childminder and wondered if there was a need in the Wick area as there seem to be so many already?

I gave up childminding in Wick about a year ago. There were a lot of childminders in Wick at the time, and it was difficult at times to get enough clients to make it worthwhile.
I know a few childminders have given up recently for a number of reasons, but I think there are still quite a few on the go. There are also lots of playgroups,nurseries and day care places now as well.

I was also a childminder that gave up a year ago but there does seem to be a demand for childminders & a shortage. I never had an problems getting my places filled

I'm not saying I had a problem - just pointing out that it's not as easy as you would think.

I looked into becoming a childminder but I would fill my under school age kid limit with my own kids:eek:
