By the time you hire the rug doctor £20.00 per day and buy the detergent £14.99 and any stain remover that you may need plus going to pick it up and taking it back and the time you would spend doing the job. thats because the equipment is worth over 800 quid and they need to be sure they can get ya if you dont come back! lol

hi there i recently hired my carpet cleanin machine from Plowmans carpets in girnogoe street in wick there about £10 a day & i bought carpet shampoo out of semi chem in wick 3 bottles for £5 or try jack shearers in wick

Autoparts in Thurso hire out a terrific carpet washer. It is much cheaper than the rug doctor etc. It was something like £12 a day. They don't supply the shampoo but I put a shampoo suitable for 3 in 1 machines that I bought from serendipity and it was about £2 a bottle.

Autoparts in Thurso has one £15 for 24 hours - you can buy shampoo in Souters.

I hired one from someone in Thurso Tele 01847893901, mob 07743150758 which cost me £15 and shampoo was included, there was no preasure to have it back in 24 hrs, I did it myself and it turned out lovely and I took pride in doing it. Well worth a go.

Thanks to everyone who replied :D I've been soooo busy the past few weeks that i'd forgotten id even posted this never mind actually get round to cleaning my carpets lol! Lots of places to try now though so will get on the case in the next couple of weeks, thanks again xx
