An earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Richter scale devastated Newcastle causing £2.75 worth of damage. Eyewitness, Tracey, 16 who is a mother of 3 said "It was well scary, I dropped my can of Stella and my little lad's hands were shaking that much he couldn't even roll a joint".
