Sorry if this has already been a recommendation, but I bought the book "Blood in the Glens" by Jean McLennan today from Jim Bews bookshop.
It is true crime stories from the Highlands including the murder of Shamsuddin Mahmood in Orkney and the unsolved cases of Renee MacRae, Kevin MacLeod and Alistair Wilson. I havent finished yet but I have found it unbaised and just stating the facts but facts that were new to me as I tend not to read a tabloids spin on an event - I like when a book sparks my curiousity to go and search for further information on the web.
I found the unsolved section particularly intriguing and moving, it must be beyond imagination what these families feel.
