I came across a dvd movie called the silver darlings. Is this the same as the book? About the herring fishing in Wick? Anyone seen it?

I came across the DVD on Lovefilm a while ago Lola and checked it out. I've not seen it but it certainly doesn't seem to be the same as Neil Gunn's book 'The Silver Darlings'.

If it has clifford evans &helen shingler in it ,thats the one about the herring fishing,i have a copy it was made in the 1940s(first saw it in the fiftys,a school outing)

Actually I think it is the clifford Evans one, I might get it and see, it wasn't that expensive, about 10GBP so about $16 - $17 plus postage.

In fact I think south view 7 is quite correct and I was wrong.

I've had another look and the DVD I was thinking of is of a 1940s film so it's probably the same one.
