I had some issues with throughput a few days ago. One of the first times in many years.

Had the usual baloney of trying the main socket etc. before they would agree to report it up.

I lied to them, as my main BT socket is behind the telly and I won't venture into that nest of snakes for anyone.

The throughput resolved itself within 48 hours, yet no mention on their website at all.

Typical. Just as lazy as I was when I dealt with the poor fops who expect a service when they pay for it.

Boozeburglar - are you aware that they can probably tell you are not in your master socket based on attenuation, noise levels etc and if they ask you to confirm this and you lie and an engineer is sent out and finds the extension is causing the issue you can be charged? Unlikely seeing as it was a throughput issue but in general that is bad advice to give. Most telephone extensions are not designed to carry broadband and can cause problems.
